How to receive/install Sprint EVO 4G Gingerbread Android2.3 update

Great, today it is reported that Sprint will release the HTC EVO Gingerbread Android 2.3 update on June 6, just this monday. The update will be pushed out via the over-the-air, you may don’t know how to get Sprint EVO 4G Gingerbread, if so come here. We share the update manual for HTC EVO, just follow the instructions below:

Steps 1: If the Android2.3 update has arrived at your HTC EVO 4G phone, you will receive a notification that Android 2.3 is available for download. So firstly check wheter you have gotted the notification.

Stpep 2: If you find that you have received the update notification, go to the phones’ home screen/Menu/Settings/System updates/HTC software Update.

Step 3: Tap check now

Step 4: Tap Ok to download the update

Step 5. After the download is complete, ensure Install now is ticked and tap OK

Step 6. Congratulations, the device has been updated! Tap OK to finish.

Note: During the upgrade process the device will reboot multiple times and show software upgrade screens. Do not remove the battery as this will stop the update and your device may be rendered inoperable!

A hard reset removes all information from your device and returns it to a state just like it has never been used before. All contacts, messages, emails, third-party applications, etc. will need to be reinstalled after performing a hard reset. To perform a hard reset, from the Home screen tap Menu > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete. This process will take 5–10 minutes.
